The Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association in the Makkah region announced that it provided 99,317 services in 2020, benefiting 78,188 families. The average family stability rate was 52.50%. During the campaign to provide food assistance to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Al-Mawaddah distributed 19,827 food baskets. The programs varied between family counseling, training, Shaml Centers services, protection services, and others.

The General Manager of Al-Mawaddah, Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi, explained that 2020 was an exceptional year as Al-Mawaddah was honored to serve more than 78,000 families, the largest number of beneficiaries in a single year since its establishment. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected many institutions, the association achieved outstanding social and institutional performance.

Al-Radhi elaborated on the social performance, stating that many programs were delivered: 11,809 families benefited from the family counseling and conflict resolution program; 4,773 women were empowered by the Life Academy, an Al-Mawaddah initiative to transform women from needing to producing. The Shaml Centers, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, served 5,084 families in implementing custody and visitation rulings. The child disorder treatment clinic, a unique Al-Mawaddah program, served 214 children. Six family studies were conducted in family research and studies, 16,253 trainees benefited from family training services, 837 specialists were trained, and 1,467 individuals benefited from family protection services, a new program in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. Additionally, 17,467 participants attended family awareness evenings.

Al-Radhi also highlighted the institutional performance achievements: the average completion rate of the operational plan outputs was 88%, and the average balanced scorecard completion rate was 89%. There were 24 knowledge exchange visits and 21 strategic partnerships. This year, Al-Mawaddah received the Award for Distinguished Family Care Institutions organized by the Arab Family Organization and the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. It also ranked third in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the best work environment in the government and non-profit sector category.

Al-Radhi emphasized that these achievements were possible only with God’s grace and support, the backing of the Board of Directors, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. He also expressed his gratitude to all Al-Mawaddah partners who contributed to supporting the association's initiatives, programs, and projects, leading to these accomplishments.
