Almawaddah qualifies 1155 specialists in family affairs
The Mawaddah Family Development Association in the Makkah region announced that, through its "Efficiency" program for qualifying and developing specialists, it has qualified 1155 individuals in the field of family affairs through training programs aimed at expanding the impact of non-profit sector work.
Eng. Faisal Al-Samnudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mawaddah Association, explained that the Efficiency program for professional development of practitioners in family affairs aims to be a scientific and standard reference for developing the knowledge, skills, and practices of specialists in family affairs through academically accredited and licensed programs from global and local institutions. Over the past years, the center has served 1553 specialists, and it aims to serve 1480 specialists in family affairs during the current year.
Al-Samnudi pointed out that the program has contributed to implementing governmental projects, including the qualification and training of 120 guidance trainers in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in 2020, as part of a project to qualify 5,000 counselors across the Kingdom. Additionally, there was a training agreement for 200 family protection specialists signed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in partnership with the Mawaddah Family Development Association, the Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Sbiei Charitable Foundation, and the Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Jumaih Charitable Foundation, aimed at providing a training program for family protection specialists (social and psychological) from the Protection General Department staff at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and family development associations in the Kingdom, in preparation for providing family protection services to the non-profit sector. Furthermore, there's a project to train 2000 family counselors, which has been assigned to the Mawaddah Association for implementation nationwide in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
Regarding the program's services, Al-Samnudi mentioned that it targets specialists in family counseling, family reform, marital therapy specialists, and special education specialists. It offers various training programs, including a diploma in family counseling, a diploma in developmental counseling psychology for families, a fellowship in marital and family therapy, and internationally and locally recognized courses such as marital coaching skills development, advanced marital and family counseling, family arbitration, play therapy for developmental disorders, reform and family dispute resolution specialist courses.
Al-Samnudi added that several projects are conducted under the Efficiency program, starting with the Professional Development Project for Practitioners, which aims to reorganize the local market for specialists and establish a scientific and standardized reference for the development of knowledge, skills, and practices of specialists through professional training and qualification via academically accredited and licensed programs from global and local institutions. He also mentioned the second project, the Family Experts Scientific Camp, which aims to build the necessary capabilities and skills for family experts in training, counseling, reform, conflict resolution, research, and family development through internationally accredited functional standards in these fields and partnerships with international and local universities and centers. This camp achieves the goals of Vision 2030 by developing human capital to meet labor market needs and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of social services by developing the skills of professional practitioners, as well as supporting individuals working in family affairs and building team capacities.
Al-Samnudi further explained that the third project, "Efficiency Membership for Accredited Specialists and Practitioners," aims to grant specialists and practitioners in family development an accredited membership based on professional, ethical, scientific, and experiential standards that enable them to practice their developmental profession professionally. This is done through the application of several tests and standards accredited by the Efficiency Academy for Family Specialists.
Through the Efficiency program, Mawaddah aims to achieve its mission of improving the quality of family life through an innovative and comprehensive system of qualitative, proactive solutions and impactful partnerships in a supportive and enabling environment, while achieving the strategic goal of building capacities for practitioners according to accredited standards through the development of family-related programs and the qualification of specialists in light of achieving sustainable family development, ensuring quality and global standards, to bridge the gap in the need for qualified Saudi personnel and establish a strategic partnership with family development institutions in the Kingdom as part of the national transformation program and Vision 2030.
