As part of the Safe Roof Initiative, Al Mawaddah delivers 7 housing units to beneficiaries of the Makramah Center

Makrama Women's Empowerment Center, in partnership with Development Housing, delivered 7 housing units to women most in need of shelter and breadwinners for their families, who are beneficiaries of Makrama Women's Empowerment Center affiliated with Al Mawaddah Association. The delivery was attended by Eng. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khuraiji, a member of the association's board of directors.

Eng. Hisham Al Khuraiji, a member of the association's board of directors, stated that the project aims to provide social, psychological and educational support, and build women's capacities to improve their standard of living and enhance their awareness through family training and providing housing to achieve family stability for them and their families. The program also seeks to achieve family stability by providing housing, providing social and psychological support, and building professional and vocational capacities to improve the standard of living and enhance families' cognitive awareness. Since the launch of the initiative, we aim to deliver 100 housing units.

Al Khuraiji added that Makrama Center aims to economically empower women breadwinners, and transform them from need to production by empowering them with vocational and professional skills in line with the labor market to achieve financial sufficiency through the path of micro-projects or the path of employment. 523 women were empowered as craftsmen and professionals during the first half of 2024, with an average percentage of women who were economically empowered at 59%. The center aims to train 1,876 beneficiaries as craftsmen and professionals in 2024, and employ 250 beneficiaries. Al-Khuraiji concluded that these efforts come within the association's strategies to enhance family stability and women's economic empowerment, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
