In a step that strengthens Saudi Arabia's position on the international stage in the field of family development, Al-Mawaddah Association for Family Development announced its official joining of the World Family Organization (WFO), with the unanimous approval of the organization's council. This makes Al-Mawaddah the first Saudi association to join the organization since 1947, and extends Saudi Arabia's 50-year membership in the organization. This national achievement follows the approval of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, within the framework of supporting the Kingdom's orientation towards globalization and strengthening the position of the non-profit sector as a main engine for community development. It is also a natural extension of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places the family at the heart of sustainable development, and international recognition of the sincere efforts made by the Kingdom to enhance family stability, embodying the values of cooperation and cohesion that have been ingrained in Saudi society over the years.
Support from the Wise Leadership and Supervisory Authorities
Eng. Faisal bin Saifuddin El-Sammnoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Mawaddah Association for Family Development, explained that joining the WFO would not have been possible without the guidance of the wise leadership, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect them, who give great attention to the issue of the family, believing in the importance of its role in building a cohesive and prosperous society. We also clearly see the keenness of the wise leadership to empower the non-profit sector and encourage it to move towards globalization by providing the appropriate environment and necessary support through the supervisory and regulatory authorities in the country.
El-Sammnoudi also expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the National Center for the
Development of the Non-Profit Sector, for their unlimited support, continuous encouragement, and generous approval of Al-Mawaddah Association's joining the WFO. He also extended special thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, and His Excellency the CEO of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Engineer Ahmed Al-Suwailem, for their sincere efforts to empower and elevate the non-profit sector.
A Leap Towards Globalization
Mohammed Al-Radhi, General Manager of Al-Mawaddah Association, explained that joining the WFO is not just a membership, but a leap towards broader horizons to achieve a sustainable global impact in the field of family development. At Al-Mawaddah, we believe in the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge, and constructive international cooperation. Therefore, through this strategic partnership, we will work to export our pioneering national experience in family development to the world, benefiting from our accumulated expertise and successful initiatives. We will also strive to strengthen cooperation with global family organizations, exchange best practices, and build effective partnerships to achieve our common goals. We look forward to organizing the World Family Summit 2025, which will be a platform for exchanging visions and ideas, and developing effective strategies to empower families around the world. We are also working to develop a unified global index to measure family stability, which will contribute to identifying challenges and developing appropriate solutions on a global scale. We will be keen to highlight our tolerant Islamic values and rich national culture.
Al-Radhi added that joining the WFO embodies our strategy for global transformation, under the leadership of the relevant supervisory and regulatory authorities in the country.
