Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association is participating in the COP16 Climate Summit, scheduled to be launched early next December in Riyadh.

This comes with a pioneering initiative under the title "One Million Environmentally Friendly Families", which aims to raise the awareness of one million Saudi families to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

Saudi Arabia is preparing for the Riyadh Conference "COP 16", to work to enhance cooperation between 197 countries that have signed the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Mawaddah, Eng. Faisal bin Saif Al-Din Al-Samnoudi, said: The association will launch an awareness media campaign in conjunction with the COP16 Summit; with the aim of spreading awareness to one million families.

He added that this is to reduce the environmental impact resulting from the daily activities of families to improve the health and quality of life of family members by adopting environmentally friendly practices and enhancing the financial stability of families by reducing the costs resulting from waste.

He continued: The campaign will include a main awareness film and daily workshops organized at the exhibition headquarters, daily virtual awareness evenings, an awareness guide on how to be an environmentally friendly family, and daily awareness media content on social media throughout the summit.

Al-Mawaddah will also launch an awareness training program for families via the family platform.

Al-Samanudi said: Al-Mawaddah aims to reach one million environmental commitments from one million families; to impact their psychological, social and economic health.

He pointed out that participating in the COP16 summit reflects the association's commitment to providing practical and innovative solutions that contribute to enhancing environmental sustainability through the family.

He pointed out that this summit represents an opportunity to exchange experiences with international entities and highlight the Kingdom's leadership role in environmental issues.

Al-Mawaddah's participation in this summit is also a strategic step towards achieving its vision of supporting the Saudi family as an essential element for achieving sustainable development, and transforming the "One Million Environmentally Friendly Families" initiative into a national model to be emulated regionally and internationally.
