The second meeting of the Honorary Council of Al-Mawaddah Association for Family Development was held under the chairmanship of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz

The Honorary Council of Al-Mawaddah Association for Family Development held its second meeting yesterday evening under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, and in the presence of members of the Honorary Council, in a meeting characterized by the exchange of strategic visions for the future of the association and discussing ways to support its development initiatives.

The meeting began with a tour of the Family House Exhibition, which reviewed the most prominent achievements of the association in supporting the stability of the Saudi family, and highlighting its efforts in enhancing family awareness and empowering individuals to face social and economic challenges.

After that, the official meeting of the Honorary Council members began, where His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz delivered a welcoming speech in which he stressed the importance of the Honorary Council’s role in supporting the Association’s orientations and enhancing the role of the Saudi family in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The meeting also witnessed a screening of a documentary film entitled “Al-Mawadda 2024”, which reviewed the Association’s journey and its most prominent achievements during the past year, in addition to its pioneering initiatives in the social and awareness fields.

Eng. Faisal bin Saif Al-Din Al-Samnoudi, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, delivered a speech in which he noted the pivotal role of the Honorary Council in supporting the Association’s efforts to achieve its goals in supporting the Saudi family. Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi, CEO of the Association, also presented a presentation on the Association’s strategic direction for the period 2025-2030, which focuses on geographical expansion, enhancing community impact, and financial sustainability.

During the meeting, the association reviewed its most prominent achievements and future goals, as the CEO explained, saying:

Today, thanks to God and then thanks to your support, we are working through 11 service buildings spread across the Kingdom’s regions, and we are implementing 26 strategic initiatives and 113 development projects, aiming to build family awareness, empower them, protect them, and qualify them to face life’s challenges. This work is led by 527 dedicated male and female employees in this field.

We have had the honor of serving more than 800,000 families since our establishment, and we have a new goal in mind: reaching an additional one million families by 2030, in addition to our efforts to reach one billion views for our awareness products, and building the capacities of 6,000 family practitioners according to the highest professional standards.”

He added: “On the institutional level, Al Mawaddah has been honored to win 14 international, regional and local awards, including achieving a 100% rating in governance from the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, in recognition of our commitment to compliance, transparency, disclosure and financial integrity. We have also received an advanced classification as one of the best work environments by “Great Place to Work”, in addition to obtaining the European Excellence Certificate “EFQM” with three stars, and we are now preparing to obtain the “Hayak” certificate from the Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization for a better experience for the beneficiary. All these achievements would not have been possible without the grace of God, then your support and trust, and thanks to our cadres who believe that every family deserves the best we can offer.”

Within the framework of our cooperation with the state, we have implemented 33 government projects and competitions within the Kingdom, in addition to a project outside it with the Abu Dhabi Development Authority, in our belief that the family’s message knows no boundaries.”

On the financial level, the CEO explained that the association achieved financial sustainability of 17.5%, with endowment and investment assets amounting to 64 million riyals, with a plan to reach 192 million riyals by 2030, to cover 50% of annual expenses from investment returns. He also stressed the association's commitment to transparency, as administrative expenses do not exceed 7-8% and are fully covered from investment returns without affecting donations or zakat funds.

During the meeting, he announced the launch of the "Waqf Al-Rahma" project in Al-Fursan neighborhood, worth 16 million riyals, which is expected to achieve a return of 8% to support programs to empower women breadwinners and transform them from need to production. He stressed that the association provides shareholders with the opportunity to pay directly to the contractor and engineering consultant to enhance the principle of transparency.

The meeting concluded with a dinner party that brought together the members of the council, where the meeting was characterized by an atmosphere of understanding and keenness to continue joint work to achieve the association's vision of enhancing the stability of the Saudi family and supporting it with innovative initiatives that meet the needs of society.
