Al Mawaddah Society for Family Development celebrated World Social Work Day, which falls on March 18th of each year, under the theme "Promoting Intergenerational Solidarity for Lasting Well-being"*, emphasizing the role of social workers in building a cohesive and sustainable society.
During this day, Al Mawaddah reviewed its efforts in qualifying and developing 6,470 social workers through the Al Mawaddah Center for the Qualification of Social Practitioners in various fields, including social research, family counseling, family protection, and behavior modification. This has contributed to raising the efficiency of social sector workers and enhancing the quality of services provided to families and society.
The Society also continued its pioneering role in research and development, issuing numerous studies, research reports, and standard guides to support social workers. It also conducted more than 200,000 social research questionnaires through several government competitions, contributing to the provision of accurate data that contributes to the development of social policies and the improvement of the quality of family life in the Kingdom. In this context, the association explained that it includes more than 90 social workers and 200 social researchers working across the Kingdom, reflecting its commitment to supporting and developing social practitioners and contributing effectively to community development. To mark this day, Al Mawaddah organized a special program to define the role of social workers in achieving sustainable well-being. In addition, an Iftar banquet was held for social workers in Jeddah, in partnership with the Jeddah Social Development Center*, to honor their efforts and prominent role in serving the community and promoting intergenerational solidarity. On this occasion, the CEO of Al Mawaddah Association, Mr. Mohammed Al Radhi, emphasized that social service is a fundamental pillar in building a cohesive and sustainable society, as it contributes to empowering individuals and families and strengthening intergenerational solidarity*. He noted that the association is proud to have trained thousands of social workers and enriched knowledge through studies and research reports. He added, "We at Al-Mawaddah believe that social workers are an effective element in achieving lasting well-being. Therefore, we continue our efforts to support and develop competencies and promote innovation in social practices. Today, we are proud to organize this special program and honor social workers in appreciation of their role in serving the community." He concluded his statement by emphasizing the association's commitment to continuing to support and empower social workers and enhancing their role in achieving sustainable development in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
