Al Mawaddah launches the "Innovation Award in Family Development"

The Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association announces the launch of the "Family Development Innovation Award," a unique initiative aimed at enhancing the role of associations and non-profit organizations in improving the quality of life for Saudi families and supporting their stability. This award is a true reflection of Saudi Vision 2030, which believes that social innovation is an effective tool for achieving societal transformation, enhancing impact, and reducing costs. It also falls within one of the association's strategic objectives, which is to contribute to the organization and development of family-related entities and initiatives.

The award is based on a future-oriented vision that seeks to support innovative development projects that take into account the cultural and social specificity of the Saudi family and respond to real-life challenges by offering creative, applicable solutions with a tangible and sustainable impact. Through this award, the association works to empower specialized entities through integrated stages, starting with receiving applications and screening projects, followed by capacity-building programs and advisory and guidance sessions, and culminating in the announcement of the winning projects during the Family Development Innovation Forum, to be held in Riyadh in October 2025.

The award targets non-profit development associations and institutions working in the family sector within the Kingdom, with at least two years of experience and a team capable of meeting the laboratory's time and technical requirements. Projects are evaluated based on several criteria, including innovation and creativity, clarity of the problem and expected impact, feasibility, cultural and social relevance, sustainability, and measurability and evaluation.

Participating teams will be supported through a specialized training program covering seven key areas: development initiative design, social innovation, design thinking, project management, future foresight, leadership, and the care economy. Specialized mentoring sessions will also be offered on project design, financing, and marketing, in addition to sharing pioneering experiences in the field of family development.

Professor Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi, CEO of Al-Mawaddah Association, emphasized that the launch of this award comes at an important time that requires everyone to redouble their efforts to provide innovative solutions that keep pace with transformations and meet the aspirations of Saudi families. He added, "We believe that innovation is the best path to achieving sustainable impact, and that today's innovative family is the nucleus of tomorrow's prosperous society." He called on all entities working in the family sector to actively participate in this unique national award.
