AlMawaddah Association for Family Development has launched the “Listen to Me… Understand Me” campaign in conjunction with World Children’s Day, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance child protection, support the family’s role in understanding children’s needs and emotions, and enable parents to adopt mindful responses that consider the child’s developmental stages.

Ms. Hamsa Tamraz, official spokesperson for AlMawaddah, explained that the campaign aims to raise family awareness that protecting a child begins with understanding their emotional and behavioral expressions, and transitioning from automatic reactions to conscious practices that support the child’s psychological and emotional stability within a safe and nurturing family environment.

Tamraz added that the campaign includes a number of specialized activities and programs, such as professional dialogue sessions for practitioners on interpreting child behavior, interactive workshops for families to strengthen communication skills and secure attachment, and awareness evenings directed at parents.

She also noted that the association is organizing an international scientific symposium titled “Children’s Rights Begin with Their Voice: Integrating Family and National and International Systems to Enhance Protection”, with participation from the International Family Organization, the Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, as well as several childhood specialists.

Tamraz highlighted that from 2020 to the third quarter of 2025, the total number of children benefiting from AlMawaddah’s childhood services reached 60,491 children. The association provided treatment services for childhood disorders to 5,468 children, 32,216 children benefited from preparatory and transitional services at Shaml Center for implementing visitation and custody rulings, 20,107 children were protected through family protection centers across the Kingdom, and 2,700 children developed skills through specialized educational programs at the Innovative Child Center.

As part of the campaign, AlMawaddah launched the Effective Communication with Children Guide, a practical guide that provides a step-by-step roadmap to help parents adopt mindful communication methods that respect the child’s developmental level and support building relationships based on understanding, trust, and responsive care.

Tamraz concluded that the “Listen to Me… Understand Me” campaign extends the association’s efforts in child protection, empowering families, and raising community awareness of its responsibilities toward childhood, by equipping parents with the skills to nurture children in a safe environment, support healthy development, and provide a comprehensive protection system that enhances their psychological and emotional stability.
