Al Mawaddah Society for Family Development signed a cooperation agreement with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to approve the 2026 plans for its international support programs. The agreement reinforces a joint implementation framework that ensures effective coordination for delivering volunteer programs and projects outside the Kingdom, helping to alleviate the suffering of those in need and strengthening humanitarian and relief response in line with approved regulations.
The agreement focuses on providing social and psychological support to affected families, building the capacity of specialized cadres in social and psychological family support, and promoting economic empowerment as a key pathway to family stability and restoring self-reliance in impacted communities.
Hamsah Timraz, the Society’s official spokesperson, noted that the operational plans for the support programs are based on a comprehensive package of integrated interventions. These include initial psychosocial assessments to identify needs and develop appropriate intervention plans; the provision of immediate psychological support (psychological first aid) to mitigate trauma and distress resulting from disasters and conflicts; strengthening social and community support programs to reinforce community ties and reduce isolation; delivering individual and group counseling sessions to help beneficiaries cope with stress and regain emotional balance; and offering psychosocial education programs to build stress-management skills and enhance psychological resilience. These efforts culminate in qualifying and empowering beneficiaries through development programs that help them restore their life roles and positively reintegrate into their communities.
Timraz added that the agreement builds on the outcomes of the Society’s programs implemented in the Republic of Yemen during 2025, benefiting 952 individuals through 1,382 services delivered to families, alongside the qualification of 35 practitioners across social and psychological support tracks. This reflects the Society’s readiness to expand its international impact through a professional intervention model that is scalable and adaptable to the specific contexts of targeted environments.
This partnership reflects the Society’s strategic direction by maximizing family-focused social impact in crisis settings and building an integrated relief and development intervention system that enhances quality of life and empowerment. It aligns with the Society’s vision—“A thriving and connected family that takes pride in its values and global standing”—and its mission to support families through innovative development programs, empowerment, and improved quality of life.
