Today, Thursday, coinciding with the International Day of Families, the Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association launched a national media and awareness campaign titled #Bruises_of_Silence. The campaign aims to strengthen family bonds, promote a culture of dialogue within families, and highlight the psychological and social consequences of a lack of communication between spouses, children, and extended family members. This initiative is part of the association's ongoing efforts to support the stability of Saudi families and enhance their quality of life.
The campaign is based on data from family cases received by the association, which revealed that approximately 19% of family problems stem from a lack of dialogue among family members. This indicator reflects the growing need to cultivate a more conscious and communicative family environment and to promote emotional support and understanding within the home.
The seven-day campaign includes the implementation of field programs and awareness activities in the Riyadh, Makkah, Asir, Jazan, Najran, Qassim, and Eastern regions. These activities will be conducted through the association's branches and through direct outreach in malls and shopping centers to reach diverse segments of society. The campaign also includes digital dialogue evenings featuring specialists and experts in family relations and mental health, along with specialized programs for family practitioners, interactive activities for children at the association's Innovative Child Centers, and the launch of a major awareness video aimed at reaching over 10 million views across digital platforms and social media.
The association emphasized that the campaign seeks to raise awareness among families about the consequences of silence within the home and the absence of family dialogue, leading to emotional disintegration, weakened family bonds, and increased rates of problems and disputes. It noted that positive dialogue is one of the most important factors in building a stable and psychologically and socially secure family.
For his part, the CEO of Al Mawaddah Family Development Association, Mr. [Name], explained... Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi stated that the association continues to fulfill its national role in supporting Saudi families through impactful developmental and awareness initiatives. He noted that over more than 23 years of institutional work, the association has achieved a broad national impact across various regions of the Kingdom, contributing to reaching over one million beneficiary families in 26 governorates with its services. This aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a vibrant society and stable families.
The CEO added that the association's national impact indicators show its contribution to reducing family disputes brought before the courts by 14.75%, addressing cases of domestic violence by 94%, enhancing family skills by 77%, and reducing divorce rates by 5.35%. He emphasized that these indicators reflect the significant social and developmental impact the association is leading in partnership with various national entities. He pointed out that the latest Social Return on Investment (SROI) studies have shown that every riyal invested in the association's programs generates a social return of up to 18 riyals, while the cumulative social and economic impact of the association's programs is estimated at more than 2.7 billion riyals. This directly reflects the importance of investing in family stability, quality of life, and sustainable community development.
He concluded his statement by emphasizing that building a stable family begins with dialogue, and that a sincere word within the home can be enough to protect an entire family from disintegration and emotional silence. He called on all families to utilize the campaign as an opportunity for rapprochement and rebuilding bridges of communication within Saudi households.
