"A journey of the soul and human connection": Al-Mawaddah Association launches a model initiative for social and psychological support for pilgrims

The Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association launched the "Social and Psychological Support Initiative for Pilgrims" during the 1447 AH Hajj season, in partnership with the Family Guidance Department at the Development Agency of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. This initiative is part of the association's efforts to enhance the quality of humanitarian and social services provided to pilgrims and enrich their psychological and social experience during the Hajj journey.

The initiative includes providing support and guidance services through six field camps, supervised by 12 specialized male and female counselors. The aim is to support pilgrims psychologically and socially, and to enhance their sense of tranquility and balance while performing the rituals, thus contributing to improving the quality of their spiritual and human experience.

The initiative also offers a package of guidance and awareness programs that focus on promoting awareness and positive behavior, supporting communication skills and stress and emotional management, in addition to programs that promote family and social stability. The positive impact of these programs will be felt by the pilgrim and their family after the blessed journey.

The initiative's services include three main tracks: psychological support, social support, and awareness and guidance programs, delivered by a specialized consulting team. Complete confidentiality is maintained, and all humanitarian services are provided free of charge. The initiative is being implemented by a select group of certified family counselors from the association, after obtaining the necessary permits to provide support and guidance services within the domestic pilgrims' camps.

For his part, the CEO of Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association, Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi, affirmed that the initiative is an extension of the association's mission to promote family stability and social cohesion. He pointed out that psychological and social support for pilgrims is a crucial aspect of enhancing their overall experience during the Hajj rituals.

The CEO added that the initiative aims to provide a professional and humane model that fosters reassurance, awareness, and positive behavior, the effects of which will be felt by the pilgrim and their family after the pilgrimage concludes. This aligns with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
