The Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association signed a cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of Prisons. Representing the association was Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Radhi, CEO of Al-Mawaddah, while Major General Dr. Fahd Al-Osaimi, Director General of Prisons in the Kingdom, represented the Directorate. The agreement aims to expand the establishment and operation of social and psychological support centers within prisons across the Kingdom.

This agreement builds upon the association's success in establishing and operating social and psychological support centers in 10 prisons throughout the Kingdom. These centers have contributed to providing rehabilitation and support services for male and female inmates and their families, thereby strengthening family and social stability and supporting reform and rehabilitation efforts.

The agreement aims to broaden the scope of psychological, social, and family services provided within prisons by establishing and operating specialized centers that offer psychological support, social rehabilitation, and family counseling programs, in addition to implementing rehabilitation programs and courses for inmates and their families.

The association confirmed that its target for 2026 is to provide services to more than 6,000 male and female inmates in the Kingdom's prisons, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to enhance quality of life, empower individuals, and raise the level of family cohesion and stability.

Both parties indicated that this agreement represents a significant step towards generalizing the model of social and psychological support centers throughout the Kingdom, based on the belief that rehabilitating individuals and supporting their families is a true investment in the security, stability, and sustainable development of society.
