Exploratory Report on the Impact of Social Media on Saudi Families

This is an exploratory report aimed at studying the impact of social media on Saudi families. It was conducted on some beneficiaries of the Mawaddah Society in the Makkah region over a period of 21 days from December 25, 2016, to January 15, 2017. The survey included questions divided into 7 sections, where the first and second questions gathered personal data about the sample (gender and marital status), and the other five questions focused on the topic of the survey. The survey provided statistically significant results and indicators that family specialists can use to understand the impact of social media on Saudi families, thus allowing them to develop solutions and proposals based on these findings. The report contained the following sections:

  • Statistics on the internet usage of Saudi family members in 2016.
  • Saudi Arabia's ranking among Arab and Gulf countries in terms of social media usage.
